Vibe

After finishing Rage Reading it, I knew I had to continue the series. I went into the second book hoping for more — more depth, more intensity, more chaos. The only question was: does it actually get better?

My Thoughts

Okay. Oh my god. I absolutely rage-read this one even more and could not put it down.

Once the truth about what the MFC really is comes out, the story completely unravels — in the best way possible. Everything turns darker, messier, and far more unhinged. One of the MMCs is spiraling, trying desperately to regain control and “do things right,” but his unresolved, deeply fucked-up past keeps dragging him back. And it hurts to watch, because he is genuinely trying.

The other MMC is also forced to confront his own past and ends up trying to mediate between the MFC and the first MMC, which adds another emotional layer to an already intense dynamic.

This book is somehow soothing and brutal at the same time. It’s spicy, heartbreaking, emotionally damaging — and still incredibly beautiful. I cried, I smirked, and I felt completely wrecked by the end.

I will recommend this book anytime, anywhere.

That said, I’m a bit unsure about the final pages involving Brisden. While I appreciated getting closure and learning what happened to him, the very detailed, almost picturesque way it was told felt a bit unnecessary to me. I would have preferred a subtler approach there.

Conclusion

Please — absolutely read the trigger warnings before starting this book.

I absolutely loved it. This book completely consumed me. It’s messy, painful, intense — and somehow deeply comforting at the same time. Despite a few elements I wasn’t entirely sold on, the emotional impact outweighed everything else. If you’re ready for something dark, raw, and unhinged, this one delivers.
