Vibe
My Thoughts
Forget what I wrote in the Vibe — what the hell did I just read?
This story follows a girl who grows up unwanted and overlooked, only to be married off for the sake of an alliance. Things take a dark turn when she is kidnapped by the enemy and suddenly finds herself caught between two very different MMCs:
one who is gentle, caring, and distant — and one who openly despises her and expresses that through violence and control.
And somehow… she’s drawn to both.
That dynamic alone had me constantly torn between fascination and discomfort. Some scenes made me pause and think, “Okay… why do I kind of get this?” — while others crossed a line for me and felt deeply wrong. This book definitely plays with blurred boundaries, and not all of them worked for me.
What stood out most was how extreme the contrast between the two MMCs was. The emotional push-and-pull kept me reading, even when I wasn’t sure I liked what I was witnessing. It’s one of those books where you don’t necessarily enjoy every moment — but you can’t look away either.
By the time secrets were revealed and the tension between the two MMCs finally exploded, the story took a sharp turn — and then suddenly ended, leaving me both shocked and slightly frustrated.
Conclusion
Please — absolutely read the trigger warnings before starting this book.
I genuinely loved the setting, and the worldbuilding is really good — especially with the added map, which made the story even more vivid.
This book made me uncomfortable, curious, and conflicted — sometimes all at once. And while I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about everything that happened, it’s undeniably a story that stays with you long after you finish reading.
